The Funeral Service for L.M. Gizatullina, Longtime Teacher of the Central Sunday School, Held at St. Nicholas Cathedral in Almaty

On December 9, 2025, in Almaty, the funeral service for L.M. Gizatullina, a longtime teacher of the Central Sunday School, was held in St. Nicholas Cathedral.

The devoted laborer in the field of spiritual and moral education reposed after a long illness in the 78th year of her life.

With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the funeral rite was performed by the deputy chairman of the diocesan commission for social ministry, cleric of St. Nicholas Cathedral of the Southern Capital, Priest Vyacheslav Isikov.

Concelebrating with the pastor were: Archpriest Vyacheslav Pugachev, chairman of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District’s commission for charity and social ministry; Priest Oleg Nasymov, cleric of St. Nicholas Cathedral in Almaty.

Praying at the service were: teachers and students of the Central Sunday School of the Southern Capital, led by its director G.V. Cherepanova, the relatives and friends of the newly departed, and parishioners of St. Nicholas Church.

At the conclusion of the funeral service, Priest Vyacheslav Isikov addressed those gathered with words of edification, speaking about the meaning and significance of the Church’s burial service as a sending forth of the departed to eternal life, and he called all present to earnest prayer for the newly departed.
