June 29, 2024. Alma-Ata. An open lesson dedicated to the 225th anniversary of the birth of the great poet A.S. was held in the Church Meeting Hall at St. Nicholas Cathedral. Pushkin.
The event with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan was organized by teachers and students of the Central Sunday School of the Southern Capital (director - G.V. Cherepanova).
The guests of the holiday were: Bishop Gennady of Kaskelen, manager of the affairs of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan; teachers of the Central Sunday School, parents of students, Orthodox youth, parishioners of churches in the southern capital.
During the open lesson, the audience was presented with a literary and musical composition dedicated to the life and work of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin. The children recited excerpts from poems and poems by the great Russian poet, and also showed a stage production of the fairy tale “About the Fisherman and the Fish.”
School student Grigory Shterkel performed Chopin’s “Nocturne” and Sergei Prokofiev’s “Evening” on the piano, and student Arina Gapchuk performed Yuri Dolzhikov’s “Waltz” on the flute.
At the end of the event, Bishop Gennady addressed the audience with a word about the work of A.S. Pushkin. The hierarch thanked the participants and organizers of the evening for the excellent job done.
