17 December 2025. Pavlodar. In the hall of church assemblies at the Annunciation Cathedral, under the chairmanship of Archbishop Barnabas of Pavlodar and Ekibastuz, the concluding diocesan assembly of the Pavlodar Diocese of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District was held.
The meeting was attended by deans of church districts, rectors and clergy of parishes, the abbess of the Sts Peter and Paul Women’s Monastery of the city of Pavlodar, Nun Seraphima (Bolibok), heads of diocesan departments, and staff of the diocesan administration.
The work of the assembly was opened by the ruling hierarch of the Pavlodar Diocese, who delivered a report on the most significant events in the life of the diocese in 2025, its social and educational–catechetical work, information and publishing activity, youth and prison ministry, as well as interaction between the diocese and state authorities and public organizations.
This was followed by a report on the activity of the diocesan audit commission, presented by its chairman, Deacon Ambrose Taukenov.
After the main reports, a discussion took place on a number of current issues related to various aspects of diocesan life and pastoral ministry.
At the conclusion of the assembly, Archbishop Barnabas thanked the clergy of the diocese for their diligence in the work of evangelical witness and for their zealous fulfillment of the obediences entrusted to them, congratulated them on the saving days of the Nativity Fast and the approaching New Year, and wished them God’s help in their ministry.
