Hierarchs of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District Took Part in the Spiritual Celebrations on the Occasion of the Bringing of the Wonderworking Feodorovskaya Icon of the Mother of God to the Pskov Diocese

January 30, 2026, on the commemoration day of Venerable Anthony the Great, spiritual celebrations took place on the occasion of the bringing of the wonderworking Feodorovskaya Icon of the Most Holy Mother of God to the Pskov Diocese. On this day, the 10th anniversary of the episcopal consecration of Metropolitan Matthew of Pskov and Porkhov was also marked.

The festive Divine Liturgy at the Trinity Cathedral of the city of Pskov was presided over by Metropolitan Matthew, Head of the Pskov Metropolitanate.

Concelebrating with His Eminence were: Metropolitan Artemy of Khabarovsk and Priamurye, Metropolitan Philip of Syktyvkar and Komi-Zyrian, Metropolitan Feodosy of Samara and Novokuibyshevsk, Metropolitan Nikon of Astrakhan and Kamyzyak, Metropolitan Pavel of Vladivostok and Primorye, Metropolitan Vasily of Yekaterinodar and Kuban, Archbishop Sebastian of Karaganda and Shakhtinsk, Archbishop Nikolai of Salekhard and Novy Urengoy, Archbishop Ipatiy of Anadyr and Chukotka, Bishop Benjamin of Rybinsk and Romanovo-Borisoglebsk, Bishop Guriy of Arsenyev and Dalnegorsk, Bishop Luka of Birobidzhan and Kuldur, Bishop Hilarion of Kineshma and Palekh, Bishop Mikhail of Yugra and Nyagan, Bishop John of Shuya and Teykovo, Bishop Innokenty of Nikolayev and Bogorodsk, Bishop Chrisanf of Shymkent and Turkestan, Bishop Feodosy of Noyabrsk, Vicar of the Salekhard Diocese, Bishop Peter of Kudymkar and Vereshchagino, Bishop Makariy of Nerchinsk and Krasnokamensk, Bishop Barnabas of Velikiye Luki and Nevel.

Also concelebrating with Metropolitan Matthew were abbots of monasteries, deans of church districts, heads of diocesan departments, rectors and clergy of the churches of the Pskov Metropolitanate.

The festive hymns were performed by the archhierarchical choir under the direction of Maria Bykova.

Praying at the service were: Metropolitan Eusebius (Savvin), abbesses of women’s monasteries with their sisterhoods, the brotherhoods of diocesan monasteries, Governor of the Pskov Region M. Vedernikov, member of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security A. Naumets, Chief Federal Inspector for the Pskov Region A. Khlopkov, Chairman of the Pskov Regional Assembly of Deputies A. Kotov, Head of the city of Pskov B. Elkin, Commissioner for Children’s Rights in the Pskov Region N. Sokolova, Director of the Pskov State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company N. Yurchenko, servicemen of the Pskov garrison, as well as numerous parishioners and pilgrims.

After the Liturgy, a festive moleben was served before the venerated Feodorovskaya Icon of the Queen of Heaven.

At the conclusion of the service, Metropolitan Matthew was greeted by Metropolitan Nikon of Astrakhan and Kamyzyak.

On behalf of the clergy and laity, the secretary of the Pskov Diocesan Administration, Archpriest Andrey, congratulated Vladyka Matthew on the 10th anniversary of his episcopal consecration.

The Head of the Pskov Metropolitanate thanked the hierarchs, clergy and faithful for their congratulations, after which he addressed those gathered with a sermon.
