Bishop Vianor performed a monastic tonsure at the Trinity church of the St. Nicholas Monastery in the settlement of Derkul

6 March 2026. Uralsk. On Friday of the 2nd week of Great Lent, after the conclusion of the evening service at the Trinity church of the St. Nicholas men’s monastery in the area of the settlement of Derkul, Bishop Vianor of Uralsk and Atyrau performed the monastic tonsure of the monastery novice Dmitry Kotlov.

Praying at the tonsure were: rector of the Archangel Michael cathedral of the city of Uralsk Archimandrite Feodosiy (Kuryanov), clerics of the Intercession women’s monastery of the city of Uralsk Archimandrite Dionisiy (Kozulev) and Hegumen Dorofey (Dilmanaev), rector of the St. Nicholas church of the city of Uralsk Hegumen Iliyа (Danileyko), sacristan of the Dormition cathedral of the city of Atyrau Hieromonk Bartholomew (Mostovshchikov), rector of the episcopal metochion of the St. Nicholas Monastery of the city of Uralsk Archpriest Alexander Pushin, Deacon Vladimir Lemachko, Hierodeacon Spiridon (Sunyakov).

The tonsured received the name Timothy – in honor of Venerable Timothy of Olympus.

At the conclusion of the tonsure, the archpastor addressed the newly tonsured monk Timothy with words of instruction.
