The Head of the Metropolitan District familiarized himself with the progress of the restoration of the Iver-Petropavlovsk convent complex in the settlement of Oktyabrskoye

29 March 2026. Kostanay region. During his archpastoral visit to the Kostanay diocese, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan visited the Iver-Petropavlovsk convent in the settlement of Oktyabrskoye, currently undergoing restoration.

Accompanying the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan were: Secretary of the Kostanay diocese Hieromonk Gennady (Burdyuzha); personal secretary of the Head of the Metropolitan District Hieromonk Dimitry (Baidek); Head of the metropolitan’s secretariat Hieromonk Prokhor (Endovitsky); assistant to the Metropolitan I.E. Yatsenko.

The Metropolitan was met by: Hieromonk Methodius (Chulkov), the nuns of the monastery headed by Abbess Nika (Otroshchenko), parishioners and pilgrims.

Upon arrival, the archpastor, together with the clergy, visited the St Peter and Paul Church and performed a glorification before the Iveron Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos, after which he spoke with the abbess and the sisters of the convent.

Following the service, His Eminence familiarized himself with the progress of the restoration of the monastery complex. The abbess informed the Metropolitan about the repair works carried out during the winter period.

Abbess Nika also informed the hierarch about preparations for finishing works in the monastic building and shared information about the concept and features of the landscape design of the monastery territory.

The Head of the Metropolitan District gave a positive assessment of the work carried out and blessed the continuation of the labors for the revival of the Iver-Petropavlovsk convent.

Restoration works in the monastery are being carried out with funds from benefactors and voluntary donations of the faithful.
