Meeting of the Diocesan Council of the Karaganda Diocese Held

April 29, 2026. Karaganda. A regular meeting of the Diocesan Council of the Karaganda Diocese took place in the diocesan administration building under the chairmanship of Archbishop Sebastian of Karaganda and Shakhtinsk.

Participating in the meeting were: Archpriest Dimitry Patrikeyev, Secretary of the Diocesan Administration; Archpriest Alexander Ugolkov, Dean of the Karaganda Church District; Archpriest Vladimir Freygang, Dean of the Abay Church District; Archpriest Akhiya Rakhimzhanov, Head of the Department of Religious Education and Catechesis; Hieromonk Moses (Patrikeyev), Head of the Department for Church and Society Relations; and Priest Alexander Podkova, Head of the Pilgrimage Department.

The working meeting began with the singing of the prayer “O Heavenly King.” The session was opened with a report by Archbishop Sebastian, Ruling Bishop of the Karaganda Diocese.

The council members exchanged opinions on improving spiritual and educational work in the parishes, and the current activities of the diocesan departments were also reviewed.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Archbishop Sebastian thanked those gathered and bestowed his archpastoral blessing upon all.
