Regular Meeting of the Diocesan Council of the Kokshetau and Akmola Diocese Held

May 19, 2026. Kokshetau. A diocesan assembly of the Kokshetau Diocese took place at the spiritual and educational center attached to the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ, under the chairmanship of Archbishop Barsanophius of Kokshetau and Akmola.

Participating in the meeting were: Priest Valery Anferov, Secretary of the Diocese; Archpriest Igor Shaporev, Dean of the Stepnogorsk Church District; Archpriest Mikhail Galagan, Dean of the Atbasar Church District; Priest Viktor Seleznev; and Hieromonk Ephraim (Kostyrko).

The working meeting began with the singing of the troparion to the Ascension of the Lord. The session was opened with a report by Archbishop Barsanophius, Ruling Bishop of the Kokshetau Diocese.

During the meeting, members of the council considered current issues concerning parish life in the Kokshetau and Akmola Diocese.

At the conclusion of the assembly, Archbishop Barsanophius thanked those gathered and imparted his archpastoral blessing upon them.
