July 28, 2026, on the Day of the Baptism of Rus’, church bells rang out in every parish and monastic community of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District as part of the Church-wide initiative “Glory to You, O God!”
With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’, the bells of Orthodox churches throughout Kazakhstan rang at 12:00 noon local time.
For the past fourteen years, this initiative has formed part of the official program of events marking the Day of the Baptism of Rus’. The first simultaneous ringing of church bells took place in 2012, uniting Orthodox churches and monasteries in Russia, Belarus, Moldova, Kazakhstan, and a number of other countries.
