Diocesan Assembly of the Clergy of the Kokshetau and Akmola Diocese Held in Kokshetau

September 15, 2026. Kokshetau. A diocesan assembly of the Kokshetau Diocese was held at the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ under the chairmanship of Archbishop Varsonofy of Kokshetau and Akmola.

The meeting was attended by B.N. Kasenov, Head of the Department for Religious Affairs of the Akmola Region; deans of the church districts; rectors and clergy of the parishes; heads of diocesan departments; and staff members of the Diocesan Administration.

Following the prayer “O Heavenly King,” Archbishop Varsonofy addressed those present with welcoming remarks. The hierarch then presented a report outlining the principal matters of church administration and the activities of diocesan departments and deaneries in various areas during the current year.

During the meeting, the participants considered current issues concerning diocesan life and the activities of the parishes. Particular attention was given to cooperation between the Kokshetau and Akmola Diocese and the administration of the Akmola Region.

At the conclusion of the assembly, the Archbishop thanked the members of the Diocesan Council, heads of diocesan departments, deans and parish rectors for their labors for the benefit of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan.
