The relics of Saint Spyridon of Trimythous, the Wonderworker, have been brought to the Pavlodar Diocese

October 7, 2026. The procession with the venerable relics of Saint Spyridon of Trimythous through the dioceses of the Metropolitan District of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Republic of Kazakhstan continues.

The reliquary containing the sacred relic left the city of Baikonur and was subsequently brought to Pavlodar.

The miraculous relics are being accompanied on their pilgrimage by Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan; Bishop Klavdian of Taldykorgan, Vicar of the Astana Diocese; O.N. Ovchinnikov, Chancellor of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan and Honored Worker of Arts of the Russian Federation; Protodeacon Roman Golovin, Head of the Metropolitan’s Protocol Service; V.M. Kapsamun, President of the Eleos-Meirim Public Foundation; and representatives of the Holy Metropolis of Corfu, led by Protopresbyters Evangelos Koutras and Thomas Kostamonitis.

At the airport, the great sacred relic was welcomed by Archpriest Alexy Stepanov, Chancellor of the Pavlodar Diocese and Dean of the Pavlodar Church District, together with clergy from the city’s churches.

A prayer service to the Hierarch of Trimythous in the Annunciation Cathedral marked the beginning of the veneration of his venerable relics. A large number of faithful came to pay their respects to the incorrupt sacred relic.

The relics of Saint Spyridon will remain in Pavlodar until noon on October 9.
