On August 8, 2024, the pilgrimage visit of the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, to the Belarusian Exarchate concluded.
The Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan was accompanied by Archbishop Amphilochius of Ust-Kamenogorsk and Semipalatinsk, as well as staff members from the departments and commissions of the Metropolitan District, led by O.N. Ovchinnikov, Honored Artist of Russia.
From August 4 to 8, at the invitation of Metropolitan Benjamin of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, Metropolitan Alexander, along with a Kazakhstani pilgrimage delegation, visited the holy sites of Belarus.
The Head of the Metropolitan District venerated the miraculous icons of the Queen of Heaven that bless Belarus with their presence—those of Zhyrovichy, Minsk, and Belynichi; he led the celebrations dedicated to Saint George (Konissky), Archbishop of Mogilev; visited the Minsk Theological Academy and Seminary, the St. Elisabeth Convent, and the All Saints Memorial Church; and visited places associated with the life of the confessor of the faith and ascetic, Metropolitan Joseph (Chernov).
At the holy sites of Belarus, Metropolitan Alexander offered prayers for the archpastors, pastors, monastics, and laity of the Metropolitan District of Kazakhstan, for peace and prosperity in the land of Kazakhstan, and for the President, authorities, military, and people of the Republic.
During the visit, Metropolitan Alexander held meetings with Metropolitan Benjamin of Minsk and Zaslavl and the episcopate of the Belarusian Exarchate, with the leadership of the theological schools, clergy, and with the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Belarus, T.M. Zhaksilykov.
On August 8, at the international airport in Minsk, Metropolitan Alexander was seen off by the Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus.
