The meeting of the Diocesan Council of the Karaganda Diocese was held

On September 16, 2024, a regular meeting of the diocesan council of the Karaganda Diocese took place at the diocesan administration building in Karaganda, under the chairmanship of Archbishop Sebastian of Karaganda and Shakhtinsk.

Participants in the meeting included: the secretary of the diocesan administration, Protopriest Dmitry Patrikeev; district deans, Protopriest Alexander Ugolkov and Protopriest Vladimir Freigang; the head of the department for Church and society relations, Hieromonk Moses (Patrikeev); the head of the department for religious education and catechesis, Protopriest Akhiya Rakhimzhanov; and the rector of the St. Michael the Archangel Cathedral in Karaganda, Priest Alexander Podkova.

Before the meeting commenced, His Eminence announced the agenda to the council members, focusing on current issues concerning the life of the diocese.

The council members exchanged opinions on improving the spiritual and educational activities in parishes, and the current work of the diocesan departments was also reviewed.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Archbishop Sebastian thanked those present and gave his archpastoral blessing to all.
