Patronal Feast Celebrated at the Intercession Parish of the Southern Capital

October 14, 2024. Almaty. On the Feast of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos, with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, Bishop Benjamin of Talgar, Vicar of the Astana Diocese, presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Synaxis of the Most Holy Theotokos at the Intercession-All Saints Parish, which was celebrating its patronal feast.

His Grace was concelebrated by: the head of the Department of Education and Catechization of the Metropolis, Rector of the Intercession Parish, Protopriest Evgeny Bobylev; cleric of the parish, Protopriest Dimitry Dubovenko; Rector of the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in the village of Koktal, Hieromonk Averkios (Belov); head of the Correspondence Department of the Almaty Orthodox Theological Seminary, Priest Daniil Bobylev; and Deacon Ioannis Atyrkhanov.

The hymns were performed by the choir of the Church of the Synaxis of the Most Holy Theotokos, under the direction of N. Lepeshkina.

The archpastor offered prayers for the increase of love and the eradication of all hatred and malice.

The Liturgy concluded with a glorification of the Most Holy Theotokos, followed by a procession of the cross.

Bishop Benjamin congratulated the rector, Protopriest Evgeny Bobylev, the clergy, and the parishioners on the patronal celebration and delivered a homily.
