The Stay of the Relics of Blessed Matrona of Moscow Concludes in the Taldykorgan Vicariate, with Over 5,000 People Venerating the Sacred Relic
October 27, 2024 – The presence of the relics of Blessed Matrona of Moscow in the Taldykorgan Vicariate has concluded.

From September 28 to November 10, 2024, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, the Kazakhstani Metropolitan District received a revered relic—the relics and a portion of the robe of Blessed Matrona of Moscow, venerated by millions of Orthodox believers worldwide.

On October 26, the relic was brought to the Church of the Archangel Gabriel in Taldykorgan, where Bishop Klavdian of Taldykorgan, vicar of the Astana Diocese, celebrated the Liturgy with the diocesan clergy.

In the evening of October 26, the relics of Blessed Matrona were brought to St. John the Theologian Cathedral, where Bishop Klavdian led the all-night vigil.

On October 27, the feast day of the Holy Fathers of the Seventh Ecumenical Council, His Grace celebrated the Liturgy in the main church of the vicariate.

The arrival of this revered Orthodox relic in Taldykorgan was a spiritual gift to the faithful, commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Astana and Almaty Diocese and the upcoming 15th anniversary of the canonical status of the Kazakhstani Metropolitan District.

The Apostol Public Foundation, led by President G.G. Sosnovsky, provided support for the relic’s journey.

More than 5,000 people venerated the sacred relic of this servant of Christ.
