November 3, 2024. The visit of the relics of Blessed Matrona of Moscow to the Petropavlovsk Diocese has concluded.
From September 28 to November 10, 2024, by the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, the sacred relics and a piece of the clothing of Blessed Matrona, venerated by millions of Orthodox believers worldwide, have been traveling across the Kazakhstani Metropolitan District.
On November 1, the relics were brought to the Ascension Cathedral, where Archbishop Vladimir of Petropavlovsk and Bulaevo, assisted by Bishop Klavdian of Taldykorgan, Vicar of the Astana Diocese, and local clergy, held a prayer service.
The arrival of this revered Orthodox relic in Petropavlovsk is a spiritual gift to the faithful in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Astana and Almaty Diocese and the upcoming 15th anniversary of the establishment of the canonical status of the Kazakhstani Metropolitan District.
In response to a petition by Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, His Holiness granted his Primatial blessing for the relics of Blessed Matrona to visit diocesan centers for prayerful veneration and spiritual support for the faithful in Kazakhstan. The relics, traveling with Metropolitan Alexander, are accompanied by Kazakhstani hierarchs and clergy.
The pilgrimage is supported by the public foundation “Apostle” (President – G.G. Sosnovsky).
More than 15,000 people have venerated the holy relics of this beloved saint.
