The Stay of the Relics of Blessed Matrona of Moscow in the Kokshetau Diocese Concluded. More Than 7,000 People Paid Veneration to the Sacred Relic

On November 7, 2024, the stay of the relics of Blessed Matrona of Moscow in the Kokshetau Diocese came to an end.

From September 28 to November 10, 2024, by the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, the great relics—the remains and part of the robe of Blessed Matrona of Moscow, revered by millions of Orthodox believers worldwide—visited the territory of the Kazakh Metropolitan District.

The reliquary containing the relics of Blessed Matrona was transported to the Church of the Archangel Gabriel, where the revered sacred object was welcomed by clergy and numerous faithful.

Throughout the stay of the relics of the saintly servant of Christ in the churches of the Kokshetau Diocese, services and molebens with the reading of akathists to the saint were continuously held.

The bringing of this honored Orthodox relic to Kokshetau served as a spiritual gift to the faithful in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Astana and Almaty Diocese and the upcoming 15th anniversary of the canonical status recognition of the Kazakh Metropolitan District.

In response to the petition of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, His Holiness granted his Patriarchal Blessing for the relics of Blessed Matrona to be brought to diocesan centers for prayerful veneration and the spiritual fortification of the faithful in Kazakhstan.

The support for the bringing of the relics was provided by the charitable foundation “Apostle” (president – G.G. Sosnovsky).

More than 7,000 people venerated the sacred relics of the Christ’s holy servant.
