On December 9, 2025, in Almaty, with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the fifth issue of the scholarly periodical of the Almaty Orthodox Theological Seminary, Theological Herald, was released.
The journal of this higher educational institution of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, established on the initiative of the first rector of the Almaty Seminary, Bishop Gennady of Kaskelen, continues its successful development, informing readers about scholarly inquiries and original research not only of its students and faculty, but also of representatives of other institutions of higher education, both secular and religious.
The pages of the fifth issue highlight current topics in Church history, theology, and the dialogue between Christianity and the socio-humanitarian sciences.
The issue opens with an article by Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan titled “The First Biographer of the First Turkestan Hierarch: The Life and Labors of Archpriest Mikhail Petrovich Putintsev”.
The scholarly publication is intended for professors and students of theological schools, as well as for all those interested in theological studies.
