Christmas Metropolitan Children’s Parties Held at the Spiritual and Cultural Center of Astana

On January 7, 2026, with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, children’s festivities – the Christmas Metropolitan children’s parties – took place at the Spiritual and Cultural Center of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District named after the Equal-to-the-Apostles Cyril and Methodius in the city of Astana.

More than 750 children took part in the festive events.

The Metropolitan children’s parties were opened with welcoming remarks and greetings by Archimandrite Sergius (Karamyshev), Dean of the Astana Church District, and Hieromonk Dmitry (Baydek), sacristan of the Dormition Cathedral of the capital.

A festive atmosphere for children and adults alike was created by professional performers, who presented a Christmas theatrical production to those gathered and conducted a variety of memorable contests and games.

At the conclusion of the festive performance, on behalf of the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, each young guest was presented with a sweet gift.
