January 11, 2026 – Kostanay. A Christmas concert was held in the assembly hall of St. Nicholas Church, with Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan as the guest of honor.
The event was organized by the teachers of the Sunday schools of the Kostanay Diocese.
Among the participants were: Secretary of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, choir director of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District, and member of the Patriarchal Council for the Development of Russian Church Singing O.N. Ovchinnikov; Secretary of the Kostanay Diocese Hieromonk Gennady (Burdyuzha); Dean of the Sarykol Church District Archpriest Vitaly Kleba; Head of the Personal Secretariat of the Metropolitan Hieromonk Prokhor (Endovitsky); and parishioners from the churches of the Kostanay Diocese.
The Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan warmly congratulated everyone present on the feast of peace and God’s love for mankind – the Nativity of Christ.
Following the metropolitan’s address, a concert was performed by creative ensembles from the Sunday schools of the Kostanay Diocese. The program included sacred hymns and carols. The main highlight of the evening was a theatrical performance titled “Masha’s Journey to the Kingdom of Ice.”
At the conclusion of the Christmas evening, His Eminence presented Christmas gifts to all the children who had come to glorify the Divine Infant Jesus Christ.
