15 March 2026. With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, a youth quiz dedicated to Great Lent was held at the church in honor of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God at Chemolgan station.
Teams of parish youth clubs from the churches of the Southern capital and the Alma-Ata region – representatives of the Orthodox youth movement of Kazakhstan – took part in the event organized by the Commission for Educational Ministry of the Astana Diocese.
The intellectual competition was preceded by a lecture by D.V. Uvarov, a researcher of the Central Asian Institute for Environmental Research. The speaker told those gathered about the Netherlands – a lowland country in northwestern Europe, known for its canals, tulip fields, windmills and bicycle paths. Danil Vladimirovich’s presentation was accompanied by photographs taken by him during a scientific internship in this European country.
After that, the participants answered the quiz questions, which included tasks on the features of the liturgical services of Holy Forty Days and the fundamentals of Orthodox culture.
