17 March 2026. Alma-Ata. Final-year students of the Alma-Ata Orthodox Theological Seminary completed the Unified diagnostic assessment for graduating bachelor’s courses.
The event took place within the framework of developing a system for assessing the residual knowledge of final-year students of higher theological educational institutions of the Russian Orthodox Church, conducted by the Educational Committee.
The observer of the diagnostic assessment at the seminary was Priest Evgeny Svoks, secretary-referent of the sector of theological education of the Educational Committee.
At 9:00 Moscow time, a live broadcast was held in a remote format, during which the Chairman of the Educational Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church, Archpriest Maxim Kozlov, conducted a general briefing on writing the assessment. During the broadcast, tasks for each discipline were randomly selected from a pre-compiled list of questions. For the duration of the assessment, all selected questions were displayed on a common screen and were available to participants.
This year, about 35 higher theological schools of the Russian Orthodox Church took part in the diagnostic assessment.
From 18 to 19 March, a commission formed from among leading преподаватели of theological schools will carry out the evaluation of the diagnostic assessment. The results of this work will be analyzed and subsequently communicated to all higher theological educational institutions. The organization and coordination of the diagnostic assessment are carried out by the Educational Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church.
