Methodian Educational Readings were held in the Diocese of Petropavlovsk

20 March 2026. Petropavlovsk. With the blessing of Archbishop Vladimir of Petropavlovsk and Bulaevo, the Methodian Educational Readings were held at the spiritual and administrative center of the Ascension Cathedral.

The conference, chaired by the ruling bishop of the Petropavlovsk diocese, was attended by: staff of the diocesan administration, deans, heads of diocesan departments, rectors and clergy of churches, representatives of the Department of the Penal Enforcement System of the North Kazakhstan Region, monastics and laypeople.

The following presentations were delivered:

Secretary of the diocesan administration Archpriest Sergiy Pervushin – «On the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts»;

Rector of the Methodius Church of the city of Petropavlovsk Priest Mikhail Berezin – «The Life and Works of Bishop Veniamin (Ivanov)»;

Head of the diocesan department for prison ministry Hieromonk Seraphim (Maksimov) – «On the Activities of the Diocesan Department for Work with Prisoners»;

Representatives of the Department of the Penal Enforcement System of the North Kazakhstan Region – «On the Joint Activities of the Diocese and the Penal Enforcement System Department for the Rehabilitation of Prisoners into Society»;

Head of the Department of Religious Education and Catechesis of the Petropavlovsk diocese I.S. Ulanov – «The Ascension Vicariate Cathedral on the 20th Anniversary of its Consecration»;

Regent of the episcopal choir of the Petropavlovsk diocese A.A. Zatai – «D.S. Bortnyansky — the Russian Mozart»;

Literature teacher of the First General Education Lyceum E.V. Morgunova – «Who Were the Decembrists?».

Following the presentations, the participants of the Methodian Readings discussed the reports and summarized the results of the conference.
