Winners and Prize-Winners of the “Artistic Culture of Western Europe” Online Carousel Announced

On 5 April 2026, with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the Commission for Educational Ministry of the Astana Diocese held the international youth online carousel “Artistic Culture of Western Europe.”

The online competition concluded a series of four games of the international Orthodox youth quiz united under the title “World Artistic Culture,” dedicated to the heritage of the great civilizations of the Christian and Arab-Muslim world.

The quiz included twenty questions on architecture, sculpture, painting, writing systems, and decorative and applied arts of the peoples of Western Europe.

Teams of school and university students from Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Uzbekistan took part in the intellectual contest. In total, 11 teams participated in the event.

According to the results of the online quiz, the following teams were declared winners and prize-winners.

1st place

“Pure in Heart” (Tashkent, Uzbekistan)

3rd place

“Young Novoishim Residents” (St. Nicholas Church, Novoishimskoye village, North Kazakhstan Region, Kazakhstan)

“Swallow” (All Saints Church, Petropavlovsk, Kazakhstan)

“Peresvet” (Archangel Michael Church, Presnovka village, North Kazakhstan Region, Kazakhstan)
