On September 22, 2024, the 13th Sunday after Pentecost, on the day of the commemoration of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Kazakhstan, with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the students of the Almaty Theological Seminary undertook a pilgrimage to the Seraphim-Theognost Hermitage, located in the Aksai Gorge within the Ile-Alatau National Park.
At the site of the monastic feats and martyrdom of the heavenly patrons of the Southern Capital and Semirechye, the Venerable Martyrs Seraphim and Theognost, a tour was conducted for the pilgrimage group.

The students of the theological school also venerated the burial site of the martyrs, marked by a commemorative cross; they conversed with the abbot of the monastery, Igumen Trifon (Pechkovsky), and the brotherhood, visited the cells, and inspected the household buildings, grounds, and land of the hermitage.
The pilgrimage was organized by the Almaty Orthodox Theological Seminary with the support of the "Apostle" Foundation (President – G.G. Sosnovsky).
