December 4, 2024 – A meeting took place in the reception hall of the Akim’s office in Shymkent between Bishop Khrysanph of Shymkent and Turkestan and the Deputy Akim of Shymkent, S.A. Kuranbek.
Present at the meeting were: Secretary of the Shymkent Diocese, A.B. Demin; Chief Imam of Shymkent, B.N. Abdrakhmanov; and representatives of the regional Akimat (local government administration).
The participants emphasized the importance of regular collaboration between clergy and local government representatives in fostering traditional spiritual and moral values, as well as promoting interethnic harmony and peace within the community.
The discussion also addressed areas of cooperation between the Shymkent Diocese and the Akimat, particularly regarding the preservation of the cultural and historical heritage of Southern Kazakhstan.
Concluding the meeting, which was held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, Bishop Khrysanph and Mr. Sarsen Abayuly exchanged well-wishes for health and success in their respective endeavors.
