January 29, 2025. Minister of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aida G. Balaeva, has expressed condolences on the passing of Archbishop Serapion of Kokshetau and Akmola.

We have received with deep sorrow the news of the tragic death of Archbishop Serapion of Kokshetau and Akmola.
He was a respected spiritual leader, held in high regard for his knowledge of religious matters, and made a significant contribution to the development of relations between the Church and the state.
Without a doubt, Archbishop Serapion’s work in the history of Orthodox faith and culture in Kazakhstan is invaluable.
On behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan and myself personally, I ask you to convey our sincere condolences and spiritual support to the family and loved ones of Archbishop Serapion.
