January 31, 2025. Kokshetau. A meeting was held in the building of the regional administration between the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, and the Akmola region akim Marat Muratovich Akhmetzhanov.
The meeting was attended by the deputy akim of the region D.E. Aitbayev.
The head of the region expressed condolences to the Head of the Metropolitan District in connection with the tragic death of Archbishop Serapion (Kolosnitsyn). "The bishop devoted more than 10 years to serving in the Kokshetau and Akmola diocese. He made a great contribution to strengthening peace and harmony in our society. Akmola residents knew him as a wise and sensitive spiritual mentor, whose word brought light to hearts and supported them in difficult times,” Marat Muratovich noted, in particular.
The Metropolitan informed the Akim of the region about his appointment by Decree of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' as acting administrator of the Kokshetau diocese.
Metropolitan Alexander and M.M. Akhmetzhanov discussed a number of topical issues concerning further cooperation between the Kokshetau diocese of the Metropolitan District and the administration of the Akmola region.
