February 7, 2025. Almaty. A meeting between Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan and T.V. Zubkova, Head of International Humanitarian Projects at Rossotrudnichestvo, took place in the fireplace hall of the administrative and spiritual-cultural center of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District named after Metropolitan Joseph (Chernov).
The meeting was attended by: O.N. Ovchinnikov, Secretary of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District and Honored Artist of Russia; Protopriest Evgeny Ivanov, Acting Rector of the Almaty Theological Seminary and Head of the Information Department of the Metropolitan District; Protopriest Dmitry Baydek, Sacristan of the Dormition Cathedral in the capital of Kazakhstan; Hieromonk Prokhor (Endovitsky), Head of the Personal Secretariat of the Metropolitan; Priest Georgy Sidorov, Head of the Administrative Secretariat of the Head of the Metropolitan District; Protodeacon Roman Golovin, Head of the Protocol Service; M.S. Simakova, Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Office in the Republic of Kazakhstan; and L.E. Goricheva, Honored Cultural Worker of the Russian Federation and Head of the Cultural Department of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District.
In recognition of her efforts in strengthening relations between the General Consulate of the Russian Federation in the Southern Capital and the Almaty Diocese, and in honor of her significant birthday milestone, Metropolitan Alexander awarded Tamara Vladimirovna the prestigious decoration of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan—the Order “Еңбек Үшін” (For Labor).
His Eminence wished T.V. Zubkova spiritual and physical strength and divine assistance in her endeavors.
During the conversation following the award ceremony, the archpastor spoke with Rossotrudnichestvo representatives about the life of the Metropolitan District, which this year will mark the 15th anniversary of its canonical establishment.
The Metropolitan informed the guests about the upcoming Primatial visit of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ to Kazakhstan. The Patriarch is expected to arrive in Astana in September to participate in the VIII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
The parties discussed organizational matters related to events planned for the celebration of Pascha and the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Metropolitan Alexander, T.V. Zubkova, and M.S. Simakova exchanged good wishes.
