March 12, 2025. Kostanay. With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, a meeting took place at the City Akimat between the Secretary of the Kostanay Diocese, Hieromonk Gennady (Burdyuzha), and the newly appointed Head of the Department for Religious Affairs of the Kostanay Region Akimat, B. S. Bukeev.
The meeting was also attended by the Chief Specialist of the Department for Religious Affairs, S. A. Abdiev, and the legal advisor of the Kostanay Diocese, G. A. Slobodyanyuk.
Welcoming Burkut Serikovich, the clergyman congratulated him on his appointment as head of the regional Department for Religious Affairs and wished him success in his service in this role.
The main topic of discussion was the upcoming visit of the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan to the Kostanay Diocese, scheduled to take place from April 2 to April 5 of this year.
The parties also discussed the construction of a new Orthodox church dedicated to the Icon of the Theotokos “She Who Ripens the Grain” in the North-Western district of Kostanay.
The participants of the meeting emphasized the necessity of regular cooperation between the clergy and local government representatives in strengthening traditional spiritual and moral values, interethnic harmony, and social cohesion.
At the conclusion of the conversation, Hieromonk Gennady and B. S. Bukeev exchanged wishes for good health and success in their endeavors.
