March 17, 2025. Moscow. At the invitation of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the Representation of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan at the Patriarchal Metochion of the Church of the Holy Martyrs Faith, Hope, Love, and Sophia was visited by Acting General Director of Sofrino, V. A. Levin, and Head of the Sales Department, G. E. Lyapin.
The meeting between the Head of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District and the leadership of the Sofrino Artistic and Production Enterprise was attended by: Vice-Rector of the Almaty Theological Seminary, Candidate of Theology, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Igumen Agafangel (Gagua); and the Sacristan of the Church of the Representation of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District in Moscow, dedicated to the Holy Martyrs Faith, Hope, Love, and their mother Sophia, Hieromonk Anthony (Drobyazko).
Metropolitan Alexander gave the guests a tour of the church, spoke about the history of this historic Moscow parish, and detailed the activities of the Representation of the Metropolitan District, which was established at the Patriarchal Metochion in 2012 with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
The Metropolitan noted that for the past two and a half years, large-scale restoration work has been underway at the church—an architectural and cultural monument of the 19th century of federal significance—with the support of benefactors. He also shared plans for the improvement of the church territory and the renovation of the buildings and utility structures of the Representation.
During the discussion, Metropolitan Alexander and V. A. Levin addressed the participation of Sofrino in the restoration of the historical interiors of the Church of Sophia, the renewal of the iconostasis and icon cases, and the restoration of liturgical items.
