June 11, 2025. Almaty. A festive reception on the occasion of Russia Day was held in the conference hall of the “Rahat Palace” hotel.
The event was organized by the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in the Southern Capital.
The guests of the event included employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, heads of public organizations, heads and members of diplomatic missions, representatives of the scientific and creative intelligentsia of the city.
With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan and at the invitation of the Consul General of the Russian Federation in the Southern Capital, D.A. Turaev, the reception was attended by: Bishop Gennady of Kaskelen, Vicar of the Diocese of Astana and Chancellor of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan; Protopriest Alexander Suvorov, Keykeeper of the Ascension Cathedral and Head of the Public Relations Department of the Metropolis; L.E. Gorycheva, Honored Cultural Worker of the Russian Federation and Head of the Culture Department of the Metropolis of Kazakhstan; G.V. Cherepanova, Director of the Central Sunday School.
At the beginning of the evening, the national anthems of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan were performed.
Afterward, the Consul General of Russia, D.A. Turaev, delivered a welcoming speech to the guests.
On behalf of the Head of the Metropolis and the entire Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Bishop Gennady congratulated those gathered on Russia Day.
During the event, the Consul General of Russia, D.A. Turaev, presented a letter of gratitude to L.E. Gorycheva, Head of the Culture Department of the Metropolis of Kazakhstan.
Following the official part, the participants of the evening were treated to a concert program of music and dance.
