May 21, 2026. Astana. President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev awarded the honorary title “Honored Figure of Kazakhstan” to Oleg Nikolaevich Ovchinnikov, Secretary of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, choirmaster of the Metropolitan District Choir, and member of the Patriarchal Council for the Development of Russian Church Singing.
According to the Presidential Decree of May 19, 2026, the title was conferred upon O.N. Ovchinnikov “for outstanding achievements in the field of culture and exceptional service to the Republic of Kazakhstan.”
The honorary title “Honored Figure of Kazakhstan” was established under the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan of December 12, 1995, and is awarded to distinguished public figures and representatives of science, culture, and the arts for outstanding service to the Republic.
