21 March 2026. Alma-Ata. With the blessing of the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the Head of the Public Relations Department of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District, Archpriest Alexander Suvorov, attended the main city event dedicated to the feast of Nauryz.
As part of the celebrations, the akimat of the Southern capital organized a concert program, which brought together representatives of the public, figures of science and culture, as well as numerous residents and guests of the city.
The akim of Alma-Ata D.A. Satybaldy addressed the participants of the event with a welcoming speech. The head of the city’s executive authority noted the importance of the feast for strengthening public accord, mutual understanding and respect among the peoples of Kazakhstan.
The presence of a representative of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District at this event testifies to the Orthodox Church’s commitment to the development of good-neighborly relations, support of interconfessional peace, and participation in the public life of the country.
