28–29 March 2026. Almaty region. An open freestyle wrestling tournament among juniors and younger boys, dedicated to the Nauryz holiday, took place at the «Solnyshko» Children’s Support Center in the settlement of Tuimebayev of the Ili district.
With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the competition was organized by the club in honor of the Holy Right-Believing Prince Alexander Nevsky at St Nicholas Cathedral of the Southern capital. The head and coach of the club is Deacon Alexander Voronin.
More than 150 athletes from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan took part in the event, competing in several weight categories.
Following the results of the tournament, pupils of the «Nevsky» club took prize places. The winners were:
Golovin Andrey – gold medal;
Sabirov Ratmir – bronze medal.
