Certificates Awarded to Staff of the Orthodox Mercy Community Nursing Home upon Completion of Professional Caregiving Courses

May 5, 2026. Almaty Region. Staff members of the nursing home operated by the Orthodox Mercy Community—the social welfare center of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District—were awarded certificates upon successfully completing professional training courses in the care of seriously ill and individuals with limited mobility.

With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the training was conducted by specialists from the Training Center of St. Alexius Central Clinical Hospital in Moscow.

The hospital’s Training Center prepares junior nursing assistants and care assistants for healthcare and social service institutions. The program combines theoretical instruction with practical training. Participants acquire professional skills in caring for seriously ill and individuals with limited mobility, including personal hygiene procedures, positioning, transferring, and feeding patients. Particular emphasis is placed on ensuring that care is both comfortable for the patient and safe for the caregiver.

Eighteen participants successfully completed the program and received state-recognized certificates. The graduates included staff members of the nursing home as well as volunteers from the Mercy social and charitable ministry of the Astana and Almaty Dioceses. Upon graduation, they were awarded the qualification of Junior Nursing Assistant for Patient Care.

During the certificate presentation ceremony, T.N. Kravtsova, Director of the Nursing Home, congratulated the social care workers on the successful completion of their training and wished them good health, success in their daily ministry, and God’s help in their noble service to those in need.
