On September 15, 2024, with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the international conference "Life After Abortion" took place at the Church of St. Nicholas in the village of Malotimofeevka.

Parishioners from the churches of the Astana Deanery attended the scientific forum.

The event was streamed live on Instagram.

Before the start of the forum, the rector of the church, Father Vladislav Kovalenko, addressed the attendees. He emphasized the importance of openly discussing one of the most challenging and painful issues of modern times—abortion and its consequences.

This was followed by presentations from the speakers.

The following presentations were delivered during the conference:

• Asel Schultz (South Africa), a certified instructor from the Association of Teachers of Natural Family Planning (UK), presented on "Post-Abortion Syndrome and Paths to Healing."
• L.S. Rybalko, a gynecologist, gave a talk on "Abortion in the Modern World."
• Father Pavel Blok (Poland), a member of the Franciscan monastic order and a participant in the international pro-life movement, priest of the Roman Catholic Church, spoke on "The Path Through Pain: Coping with the Loss of a Child."
• N.V. Agzhigitova, a psychotherapist and member of the All-Russian Psychotherapeutic League, presented on "Restoring Emotional Well-Being After Abortion."

After the presentations, the event participants engaged in a discussion of the presented topics.

In conclusion, Father Vladislav Kovalenko emphasized the importance of spiritual, psychological, and medical support for those who have experienced the consequences of abortion and called for a conscious and respectful approach to life. He also expressed gratitude to all the participants and guests.

The interaction among the attendees continued in an informal setting over a coffee break in the church refectory.
