September 18, 2025. Astana. At the conclusion of the solemn prayer service in the Assumption Cathedral, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ presented a high ecclesiastical award to the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan.
In recognition of his zealous archpastoral labors, the Primate awarded the Head of the Metropolitan District with the Order of the Holy Right-Believing Prince Alexander Nevsky, First Class.
Congratulating Metropolitan Alexander, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill said in particular:
“Now, as the head of the Metropolitan District of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Republic of Kazakhstan, you manifest fatherly care for the comprehensive development of diocesan life in the flock entrusted to your stewardship. Through your inspired word and good deeds you bear witness to your contemporaries of the eternal truths of the Gospel, calling people to peace and civic harmony. In recognition of your zealous service, I deem it just to bestow upon you the Order of the Holy Right-Believing Prince Alexander Nevsky, First Class.”
His Holiness wished Metropolitan Alexander strength of soul and body, as well as unfailing help from the Savior of the world in his lofty archpastoral ministry.
