Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, along with Orthodox believers of the Republic, received Christmas greetings from the Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan, Supreme Mufti Nauryzbai Kazhy Taganuly.
In his message, he stated: “This holiday, bearing profound spiritual significance, unites all Orthodox Christians around the world. Justice and love for one’s neighbor, honesty and diligence, a strong family and mutual understanding, compassion and peace—these values form the foundation of the development of our state and society.nAt the heart of all traditional religions lies love—for the Creator and for one’s neighbor. It is upon love that life on earth is built. Truly faithful Muslims, Christians, and adherents of other religions always preach goodness and pray for the strengthening of harmony and peace in our country. The President of Kazakhstan, the esteemed Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, has repeatedly emphasized that interfaith harmony is one of the key factors for the successful development of our country, based on the fundamental principle of unity in diversity. This message is a consistent theme in the speeches of our esteemed Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Historical data shows that all world religions have left their mark on the ancient Kazakh land, which is why intolerance is foreign to us on a genetic level. This spiritual tradition is one of the most important foundations of interfaith harmony in Kazakhstan.”
The Supreme Mufti also stated that Islam and Orthodoxy are imbued with the ideas of humanism, compassion, love for one’s neighbor, and hope for a bright future.
The Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan emphasized:“We must all unite in prayers for peace on earth and remember that without reliance on faith in the One Creator, further meaningful development is impossible—not only for our country but for humanity as a whole.”
