November 20, 2024. Taldykorgan. The fourth meeting of the Club of Religious Leaders of the Zhetysu Region, dedicated to the Day of Spiritual Harmony, took place at the Palace of Languages.
The forum was initiated by the Department of Religious Affairs of the Zhetysu Region Akimat.
By the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, participants included: Bishop Klavdian of Taldykorgan, Vicar of the Astana Diocese; Protopriest Alexander Matlashov, Dean of St. John the Theologian Cathedral in Taldykorgan; and Protopriest Rustik Nurgaliev, Rector of the Church of Archangel Michael in Ush-Tobe.
The meeting, chaired by Deputy Akim D.R. Esdauletov, was attended by: Chief Imam of the Region Kerimbek Dautov; Julian Mankowski, Priest of the Roman Catholic Church “Parish of the Holy Virgin Mary”; Dmitry Tsoy, Pastor of the Evangelical Church “Agape”; and representatives of other regional religious associations.
The opening address was delivered by Zh.A. Sagynysh, Head of the Department of Religious Affairs.
During the session, presentations were given by Bishop Klavdian of Taldykorgan, Chief Imam Kerimbek Dautov, Priest Julian Mankowski, and Pastor Dmitry Tsoy.
In his speech, the head of the Taldykorgan Vicariate emphasized the importance of the activities of religious communities in preserving traditional values and highlighted the significance of Kazakhstan’s unique model of interethnic and interfaith cooperation.
The forum participants discussed pressing issues related to state-religion collaboration, maintaining spiritual unity, and charitable initiatives.
The event concluded with a ceremony recognizing religious and public leaders with letters of gratitude from the Akim of the Zhetysu Region. Among the honorees were Bishop Klavdian of Taldykorgan and Protopriest Alexander Matlashov.
