Konstantin Vasilyevich Cherepanov

(1878 - 1937) – priest, hieromartyr

Commemoration on November 22 (November 9, O.S.), in the Assemblies of New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia and Kazakhstan.

He was born in 1878 in the Yekaterinburg district of Perm Province. He graduated from Perm Theological Seminary.

He was ordained as a priest for the Resurrection Cathedral in Semipalatinsk.

On August 28, 1937, he was arrested on charges of membership in a "counter-revolutionary spy organization of churchmen." He was part of a group case known as "The Case of Protopriest Boris Gerasimov. Semipalatinsk, 1937." He did not plead guilty: "I did not conduct any counter-revolutionary agitation against Soviet power and did not receive any tasks from Gerasimov. I visited Gerasimov, but we did not have any counter-revolutionary conversations. The only time Gerasimov talked about the closure of the Resurrection Church, I, as a spiritual father, sympathized with the closure."

On November 19, 1937, he was sentenced to execution by the troika of the UNKVD of East Kazakhstan Region.

He was executed on November 22, 1937, at 2 a.m. in Semipalatinsk. The place of burial is unknown.

On April 25, 1989, he was rehabilitated by the prosecutor of Semipalatinsk region (for the 1937 repressions).

On December 27, 2000, he was canonized by the decision of the Holy Synod as a saint among the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia for veneration by the entire Church.
