18 March 2026. Alma-Ata. A delegation of the Egyptian University of Islamic Culture Nur-Mubarak visited the Alma-Ata Orthodox Theological Seminary.
The delegation included: Head of the Department of Religious Studies of the Egyptian University of Islamic Culture Nur-Mubarak, PhD Zh. Tologon; Associate Professor of the Department of Religious Studies of the Egyptian University of Islamic Culture Nur-Mubarak, PhD, Editor-in-Chief of the journal «Qut» T. Temirbayev; Master’s student in Religious Studies of the Egyptian University of Islamic Culture Nur-Mubarak Kh. Demeuova.
With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the guests were welcomed by: Rector of the Alma-Ata Orthodox Theological Seminary, Candidate of Theology Archpriest Evgeny Ivanov; Vice-Rector for Educational Work Priest Ioann Livinsky; Vice-Rector for Academic Work, Candidate of Philosophy A.P. Solovyov.
A tour of the seminary building was organized for the distinguished guests, during which they visited classrooms, the library and the administrative корпус. Representatives of the Egyptian University delegation highly appreciated the equipment of the classrooms and the living conditions of the seminary students.
After the tour, a working meeting between the administration of the theological school and representatives of the Department of Religious Studies of the Egyptian University of Islamic Culture Nur-Mubarak took place in the faculty room.
The parties discussed prospects for the development of interfaith dialogue and religious education in the region.
The Head of the Department of Religious Studies informed colleagues about promising projects being developed by the Islamic university. In turn, Archpriest Evgeny Ivanov informed the guests about the activities of the Alma-Ata Theological Seminary – the main training center of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation between the Egyptian University of Islamic Culture Nur-Mubarak and the Alma-Ata Orthodox Theological Seminary in the field of implementing research and cultural-educational programs.
At the conclusion of the meeting, which took place in a friendly and warm atmosphere, the participants exchanged commemorative gifts.
