Memory day in the Assembly of New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia on the first Sunday starting from February 7 (January 25, Old Style).
Holy Martyr Martha was born in 1885 in the Poltava province. In 1939, she was arrested and sentenced to three years in corrective labor camps.
In 1942, Martha Ivanovna was re-arrested in Karlag, where she was serving her sentence, as part of the group case of the Venerable Martyr Eudokia (Andrianova), and was sentenced to execution. The sentence was soon carried out.
She was canonized as a holy martyr and confessor by the Russian Orthodox Church at the Jubilee Bishops' Council in 2000 for general church veneration.
