(1882 - 1937) – Priest, Hieromartyr
He was born in 1882 in the village of Lubyanki, Mikhailovsky District, Moscow Region.
Before his arrest, he sold candles.
On January 23, 1936, the Special Collegium of the Moscow Regional Court sentenced him under Article 58, Section 10, Part 1 of the RSFSR Criminal Code to six years "...for conducting counter-revolutionary agitation directed against collective farm construction."
He was sent to the Karlag. While serving his sentence in Karlag, Pavel Bocharov was arrested again on September 19, 1937. By the decision of the NKVD troika of the Karaganda region on November 31, 1937, he was convicted under Article 58, Sections 7, 10, 11 of the RSFSR Criminal Code and sentenced to the highest measure of punishment - execution by firing squad.
The sentence was carried out on November 2, 1937.
Martyr Pavel was canonized by the Jubilee Bishops' Council of the Russian Orthodox Church in 2000.
