Pyotr Andreyevich Kravets

(1885 - 1937) – Priest, Hieromartyr

Memory on November 2 (October 20 O.S.) in the Synaxis of New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia.

Pyotr Andreyevich Kravets was born in 1885 in the city of Nikolayevsk, Stalingrad Region.
 
He was first arrested in 1923 in the city of Nikolayevsk for belonging to a church community of the Tikhonov orientation. He was placed at the disposal of the OGPU, where he spent two weeks.
 
He was arrested twice in the city of Saratov but was not sentenced.
 
In 1935, he was arrested and sentenced under Article 58, Section 10 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to three years of imprisonment. He was sent to Karaganda Correctional Labor Camp (Karlag). While serving his sentence in Karlag, Priest Pyotr Kravets was arrested again on September 19, 1937.
 
By the decision of the NKVD Troika for Karaganda Region on November 31, 1937, he was sentenced under Article 58, Sections 7, 10, 11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to the highest measure of punishment - execution.
 
The sentence was carried out on November 2, 1937.
 
Hieromartyr Pyotr was canonized at the Jubilee Bishops' Council of the Russian Orthodox Church in 2000.
