Pyotr Vasilyevich Bordan

(1895 - 1937) – Martyr

Memory on September 8 (August 26 O.S.) in the Synaxis of New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia.

Pyotr Vasilyevich Bordan was born in 1895 in the village of Slobodzea, Kadimsky District, Odessa Region.

From 1915 to 1917, he served in the Tsarist army.

On February 4, 1936, he was arrested and on February 19, 1936, sentenced by the Troika of the NKVD of the Ukrainian SSR under Article 34 of the Ukrainian SSR (for refusal to join a collective farm) to three years in a correctional labor camp.

He arrived in Karlag in January 1937. He was assigned to the Ortaus branch of Karlag.

Dmitry Morozov and Pyotr Bordan were arrested in Karlag on August 22, 1937.

At a session of the NKVD Troika for Karaganda Region on August 31, 1937, Dmitry Mikhailovich Morozov and Pyotr Vasilyevich Bordan were sentenced to the highest measure of punishment - execution.

The sentence was carried out on September 8, 1937.

He was canonized in August 2000 at the Jubilee Bishops' Council of the Russian Orthodox Church.
