Tatyana Ignatievna Kushnir

(1889 - 1942) – Martyr

Commemoration in the Synaxis of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia on the first Sunday starting from February 7 (January 25, Old Style).

She was born in 1889 in the Chernihiv Province into a peasant family. She was arrested and sentenced to two years of imprisonment, then sent to Karaganda. The Judicial Collegium for Criminal Cases of the Karaganda Regional Court, at the Akmola branch of Karlag, passed a sentence on the group case of Yevdokiya Adrianova and 11 other prisoners: "the highest measure of punishment - execution by shooting." The sentence was carried out on April 7, 1942. The place of her burial is unknown.

She was glorified as a saint among the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia by the Bishops' Council of the Russian Orthodox Church in August 2000 for general veneration.
