Memory: September 16 (September 3, Old Style), in the Assembly of New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church.
Protopriest Filipp Shatsky was a teacher at a missionary school in the stanitsa of Sarkand, Kopal County, Semirechenskaya Oblast.
In 1918, the Bolsheviks, who had occupied the village, locked him in the school building and set it on fire. The charred remains of the priest were found and buried.
Hieromartyr Filipp was canonized as a saint at the Jubilee Bishops' Council of the Russian Orthodox Church in 2000.
