May 1, 2026 – Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan. The Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, extends his greetings to the residents of the country on the occasion of the holiday:
I congratulate you on the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan – a bright spring holiday that embodies peace and harmony in our country.
From time immemorial, representatives of various ethnic groups inhabiting the Great Steppe, through their history and the lives of many generations, have shown the whole world an example of brotherly love and mutual respect, of joint creative labor for the good of the Fatherland.
Strengthening stability, civil peace, and harmony is a priority direction of the domestic policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In one of his addresses to the people, the Head of State, the highly respected Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev, said: “Peace and harmony must be perceived not only as a state ideology, but also as an integral part of our social and personal life, of our labor activity. They must not be empty slogans, but the daily position of every citizen.”
The Orthodox Church, along with Islam of the Hanafi school, which has contributed to the historical development and cultural heritage of the Republic, has always carried out and will continue to carry out its mission aimed at affirming in our society the ideals of mercy, goodness, and justice.
On this festive day, I wish all the people of Kazakhstan good health and success in their labors, peace and prosperity.
The Head of the Metropolitan District sent congratulatory messages on the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan to the President of the country, members of the government, akims of cities and regions, and members of parliament.
