May 27, 2026. Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, extended congratulations to the Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the country, Supreme Mufti Nauryzbay Qajy Taganuly, and to all Muslims of the Republic on the occasion of Kurban Ait:
I warmly congratulate You and all Muslims of Kazakhstan on the occasion of the feast of Kurban Ait!
This celebration, sacred to all Muslims, teaches sacrificial love toward one’s neighbor.
The remembrance of events of the past helps every person rightly to evaluate what is taking place today, to look toward the future with hope, and to find common ground with representatives of different confessions, ethnic groups, and cultures.
The feast being celebrated instills in the hearts of the Muslims of Kazakhstan a spirit of unity, peace, and joy, and provides an occasion for the manifestation of the noblest human qualities.
I express my sincere hope that Muslims and Christians, together with representatives of other traditional religions of Kazakhstan, will stand united against vice, uphold moral principles, and, upon the firm foundation of unity and concord, build the spiritual strength of Kazakhstan and strengthen its statehood.
I wish You, esteemed Mufti Hazret, and all Muslims of the country health, peace, prosperity, and success in good works for the benefit of the Fatherland!
May the Almighty help You in Your further labors in the lofty office of spiritual leader of Kazakhstan.
